With Thanksgiving this week, I thought it would be helpful to put together a shortlist of Youtube videos, I recommend for teaching the topic of gratitude to your pre-k and elementary kids. Being thankful for what we have, is a hard concept even for adults. And in a world where everything is celebrated with gifts, it's hard to pass that spirit of gratitude down. Right now, my daughter is turning 6 in a few days and we are struggling. So let's grow together in this area.
This one is perfect for the donut loving child in your family!
So this is actually the curriculum we use in our Church Plant. And LOVE! This is a longer video but really helps your pre-k-aged child connect with the concept!
This guy had us laughing out loud with his list of thankfulness! After your done, go back and forth with your kids thinking of outside the box reasons why you are thankful!
This one is a little out of the box and features a child baking a pumpkin pie for the family. But instead of a cup of sugar, He uses SALT. Watch His family's reaction when they realize His mistake. Such a great point for diving into deeper conversations about feelings and attitudes of gratitude.
This one may be older kids, but the narration done by an older child may grab their attention. Keep the conversation going, by making your own lists!
