DISNEY'S POP CENTURY RESORT OVERVIEW & ROOM TOUR

If you are starting to plan for your next trip to Walt Disney World. It may be time to check out Pop Century as an option. Pop is one of Disney's older hotels but has recently had a wonderful room refurbishment. Though Pop Century is considered a "value" resort there is still a ton of magic on the property! Everything from oversized toys, a Mickey phone, and even Lady and the Tramp two stories tall. It is so fun to see your little one's reaction to these props!

Pop Century's theme is just that, decades of Pop culture. As you are walking around the property, you will find buildings based on decades. Each building decade has a different color scheme and theme to represent those years. The 50's, the '60s, 70's '80s, and '90s are represented.

It's important to note where these buildings are in proximity to the buses and Skyliner. The buses are loaded right in front of the classic hall, while the Skyliner is shared with The Art of Animation Resort right across Generation Gap Bridge. Having a room closer to these transportation options may be worth the upgrade.

Let us move on to amenities. While it's still a "Value" resort, there are a few fun things that they do offer. Amenities included are complimentary wifi, online check-in, atm, three themes pools, one small splash pad, laundry service area, jogging trail around hourglass Lake, playground*, Fast forward Arcade area*, and Movies under the stars*. While Covid has affected certain availability of these amenities*!

Dining options are limited as it is a value resort. The main dining is located in the Classic Hall. Everything POP Shopping & dining hosts both the quick service dining options as well as the gift shop. Due to Covid, you are currently only able to mobile order your food. And like the parks, you can not enter until your order is called. Drinks are poured for you, and food is given out to go. Once you have your food items, you may then sit and enjoy in the dining hall. Next up is Petals Pool bar, serving drinks right outside of the main pool area. There are various tables you can sit and enjoy your beverages at right outside of Petals. Lastly, before Covid, they did offer a Pizza delivery service that is really convent. It ran late at night and was great for that fourth dinner after a long park day. It is currently unavailable as a dining option.

In closing here are a few items and things I wish I had known about before our trip to Walt Disney World's Pop Century! Here are the top 5 items I used to beat the heat at the parks!

There is currently a showing of Happily ever after fireworks spectacular playing every night at 6 pm-10 pm on your tv! We didn't get to watch it at the resort because we had no idea about it.

As well as bedtime stories starting at 6 pm. Masks must be worn at all times outside of your room, except in the pool area. Then you can remove them, but be careful to stay socially distanced. Pool towels are disposed of as normal, but kids lifejackets are to be left on the seat, and your lounge chair will be sanitized after you use it. There were several attendants cleaning while we were swimming.

Overall it was still a great stay! I hope this helps in knowing what to expect on your next Walt Disney World stay at Pop Century!
