So Kraig and I were lucky enough to snag a spot on Friday, July 10th, for the Walt Disney World pass holder preview. The email was sent without warning, and the event sold out within the hour. We felt superly blessed to able to attend. Not only allowing us to check out the new safety protocols they had in place. But mostly because we missed being there so much. You know the smell of the main street. The sound of the marching band passing by. ALL THE TREATS. Mainly dole whip... haha There definitely is a huge spot in our hearts, like so many of you, for that magical place.
I will have a full rundown of my thoughts on returning to Walt Disney World this coming week. Including all of the cleaning measures. And quite frankly if we feel it's worth the time and expense for YOU to come to visit. Since Disney did not host us. cough cough cough. We will be giving an unbiased review of our personal experience at Magic Kingdom.
Joking aside. Knowing that there were ALL DAY MASK REQUIREMENTS in place. Was a bit scary. Me being a native Floridian, and absolutely admitting to being Disney crazy. I still don't visit the parks between June- August. Quite frankly, Disney is located in a swamp. In the middle of the state. The sunshine state. You will melt. And heat exhaustion is no laughing matter, my friends. I knew we had to better prepare.
So we did what everyone does when planning for an epic Disney day. Research on Pinterest! DUH! So to spread the joy, and maybe even save you some time. Here is a list of MUST HAVES for returning to Disney Parks under the mask mandate.
Stay tuned for our thoughts on the Park re-opening this week!
Let's start with the basics, and this will be subjective. MASKS. I mean you are going to need to test quite a few masks until you figure out what is the best option for
you and your family. For us, we love Target's fabric masks. They offer them for both children and adults at a great price point. Only $4 for a pack of two. Here's a photo of Kraig and I wearing ours.
Next up, is my favorite park bag!
Petunia Pickle Bottom makes some of the cutest and most functional park bags/ diaper bags around. We have a little mermaid bag!
Here are a few super cute options below!
So with the extreme heat, the BEST thing we purchased was two handheld fans. Now you see people walking around in the parks with these all the time. And now I understand why. YOU MUST BUY THIS friend. It truly made the day so much more enjoyable! The ones we purchased are available in both the hunter green and white. We opted for white due to a quicker shipping time frame. But my favorite part about them is the tripod on the bottom, that clicks in and out of place. So you can easily have a steady stream of air while relaxing in a mask free zone. Or maybe off in a corner enjoying some ice cream in your own bit of heaven aka a flipping breeze!
The Last item I want to share with you guys today is these awesome, washable ponchos. I was so excited to find high-quality ponchos in trendy muted colors. woohoo! They even came in a matching pouch to store when not in use. My favorite part about these is the pocket that zips up, so you can easily store money and your phone within reach while walking around the parks. The roomy design helps airflow. As well as giving you plenty of room if you are wearing a larger backpack. They are unisex as well. Check out some of the color options below.
If you would like to see more of what I pack in my park bag for a family of three.
