Tips for bringing a baby to Walt Disney World 2022

So you're planning a disney trip with a little one in tow. How exciting! While it can easily feel overwhelming, it doesn't have to be! Disney has really taken the guess work our of caring for your little angel during your trip. Let's break down the basics!

Whats in my baby's park bag?

While it really depends on what time of the year you are visiting Disney World. Let's do a what if, all sineros packing list.

-Diapering essentials: wipes, diapers, diaper creams

-Feeding essentials: bottles, formula, water, baby food, lots of snacks, bib, utensils

-soothing essentials: baby blanket or sleep sack, pacifier, teething toys, play toys for stroller, stroller fan, white noise machine, favorite plush

-clothing essentials: change of clothing, layers for weather changes- jacket, romper etc.

-Other: sunscreen, hats to cover baby head, Moby wrap, burp clothes, lysol wipes, hand sanitizer, wet bag

Baby care centers?

Baby care centers are complimentary spaces for those who have infants and toddlers. You can find one in each park! They are the perfect place to have privacy and a quick escape from the heat for famlies.

-Magic Kingdom’s Baby Care Center is located on a path to the left between Casey’s Corner and The Crystal Palace Restaurant.

-EPCOT’s Baby Care Center is located in the Odyssey Center at the end of the building closest to the World Showcase’s Mexico Pavilion.

-Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s Baby Care Center is located to the right and behind Creature Comforts on Discovery Island.

-Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ Baby Care Center is located immediately to the left upon entering the park in the Park’s Guest Relations building.

Baby Care Centers offer complimentary amenities like private nursing rooms, changing tables, and feeding areas with high chairs. The main room features with tables and chairs, other seating, and usually a television with a disney movie playing. They also typically have coloring pages, books, and puzzles for kids, too pre-covid. The nursing areas are nice and private. There is also a small kitchen, with various snacks, supplies for sale. Things that you may need in a pinch! Diapers, wipes, baby food etc. There is also a microwave for use, as well as a hot & cold water for refilling water bottles and making baby bottles. Also within the care center is at least one kid friendly restroom. Extras at the baby center include high chairs for feedings, bigger items for sale like some apparel , hats, suncreen, strollers etc. The attendants within the baby center are some of the sweetest and friendlist on property!

It's important to know that some of the spaces are smaller, so while a greta place to escape. It's not somewhere where you should linger. Due to Covid lots of cleaning is constantly taking place, and its always great to be curious of others needing a changing table or space within the center.

What if I need something special while staying at WDW?

The first thing I would do is ask the front desk. You would be surpirsed how many extras Disney has! For example , during our May 2021 trip, my daughter lost her front tooth. I was totally not prepared for that at all! Luckily the front desk at the Yacht Club Resort was! It was truly magic for the parents as well!

Next, you can use delivery services like Instacart to have what you need delivered right to the resort! It's way more common than you may think! You can even have things delivered before hand as well. Check with your resor if there are any fees to holding deliveries at your resort though!

Lastly, you can always UBER or LIFT to a local target or walmart to snag exactly what your need directly. Or even a walgreens that is like 2 minutes outside of Walt Disney World property on the Disney Springs side! Its amazing everything righ toutside of the Disney World bubble!

Offsite rental companies?

Don't want to drag around extra carseats and strollers? Don't want to rent Disney's bulky and uncomfortable strollers? I don't blame you. I have never been impressed with those strollers personally. I feel they should offer a range for a smaller children too personally. But the good news you can rent baby gear , basically anything you can think of! And those items can be delivered directly to your Disney or non-disney resort on the day you check in!

Should I consider bringing another adult to help?

This is complety up to you, but another pair of hands on deck may be just what your trip needs. Consider bringing an extended family memeber to help carry the load! There are also various nanning services avalaible in Orlando. Many that will come right to your room, or even attend the parks with you. Of course most likely those serves will come at a premiuim. Make sure you really check reviews before booking any one on one service as always.

What will my park day really look like?

You have spent a lot of time planning, and quite honestly a trip to Disney World is an investment! What can you really expect with taking an infant with you to Disney World? As with any Disney trip I never recommend trying to pack in everything Disney has to offer, it's not not possible. And really adds a lot of stress onto your trip that you don't need! Instead have everyone in your party pick their top 2/3 items to do at each park and plan your day around that! Expect lots of naps in the stroller! We find it best to bring pjs with us on late nights and a sleep sack as well! They way getting your little one to sleep is less jarring at the end of a long day! Take advantage of things like Disney's rider switch service. Which is included in your ticket!

What rides can I take my little one on?

You are going to be surprised on what you can actaully take your little one on! There's alot of choices! Basically any ride or attraction that says Any Height, you can take your little one on! But consider length of the entertaiment or ride, also the enviroment. If your little one is sensative to loud noises, it may be good to bring noise canceling headphones for infants or toddlers with you. Over stimulation is always an issue for most families visiting Disney World. It's a tight schedule, usually jam packed days! It often is way different than a childs normal day.

What is Disney's Rider Switch?

If Guests in your party can’t or don’t want to board an attraction, you don’t have to miss out! If a child does not meet the height requirement or a Guest does not wish to board a particular attraction, no problem! With Rider Switch, one adult can wait with the non-rider (or riders) while the rest of the party enjoys the attraction. When the other adult returns, they can supervise the non-riding Guests, and the waiting adult can board the attraction without having to wait in the regular line again! Rider Switch is available at select attractions at all 4 Walt Disney World Resort theme parks.

To Use Rider Switch: 1. First check with a Cast member to see if Rider Switch is offered at the attraction in question. 2. Once at the attraction, approach the greeting Cast Member with your entire party. At least one adult member of your party and the Guests who are not riding will be issued a Ride Switch entitlement by the Cast Member and asked to wait in a designated area (usually outside of the attraction). This group is “Party 2.” 3. The other party members (“Party 1”) ride the attraction. 4. After riding the attraction, Party 1 locates Party 2. Then, Party 1 takes over supervision of the non-riding children or Guests. 5. Party 2 enters and boards the attraction without having to wait in the regular queue a second time. The Rider Switch entitlement must be validated by a Cast Member at this time. Please note that if the person in party 2 waited alone with the child or non-riding Guest, the number of Guests who may join him or her and ride again is limited.
